Types of B. Sc Nursing

There are 2 types of BSc Nursing Courses.

BSc Nursing Course

BSc Nursing is a 4-year undergraduate program dealing with the development of skills, training, values and knowledge as mentioned in National Health Policy 2002 about critical care. There are about 1,00,930 BSc Nursing course seats across 1936 nursing colleges in India. Students with science in class 12 are eligible for BSc Nursing. Out of these, 571 BSc Nursing seats are available for AIIMS.

The candidate can apply for the course after completing class 12th if they have secured a minimum of 45-50% aggregate.

The admissions for the course may be through the entrance examination or on a merit basis and the course includes theory and practical training.

 

BSc Nursing Eligibility

The eligibility for BSc nursing courses can vary from one college to another. Aspirants who have passed class 12th with science stream from a recognized board/university are eligible to apply for BSc Nursing, however, some colleges/ universities allow students belonging to any stream to take admission in the program. The designated entrance exam, whether state or university level should be taken for admission to this nursing course.

BSC(N) age and qualification criteria:

  • The minimum age required is 17 years as of 31st December of the year in which admission is to be taken and 35 years, is the maximum age.
  • Candidates must have scored at least 45% aggregate marks in class 12th from a recognized board/university.
  • The candidate must be medically fit.
